Against food waste

Secursat to support biodiversity, Italian local agriculture closely linked to the roots of the territory, support a healthy and sustainable food style and fight food waste decided to support the Orteat initiative, giving for Christmas 2022 to all its employees a fruit basket part of the initiative "Save the Harvest", for a total of 190 KG.

A different and fairer way to support farmers without relying on the high distribution chain, directly taking products from the land and bringing them to the consumer customer who can benefit from their quality and freshness.

What is "Save the Harvest"?
 

"Save the Harvest" is an initiative promoted by Orteat dedicated to save the fruit that would have been wasted due to aesthetic imperfections, timing related to the harvest, rules of great destruction etc. Secursat has given seasonal fruit to respect production, the environment and territories. Thanks to this initiative Secursat has saved over 38 kg of fruit, all organic and produced by farmers of Italian territories and saved over 47.5 kg of CO2. The initiative also aims to enhance the work of the farmers involved, with a social impact of over 400 € according to data provided by Orteat. These results are possible thanks to a slimming down of the traditional Chian supply, which for over 5 different steps and 10 days passes from the farmer directly to the customer with a delivery time of up to 2 days.

An initiative that combines the Secursat values of social, ethical and environmental sustainability and that is part of our sustainable development policies.
