Artificial Intelligence, the primary theme is the ability to do analysis with data

The rapidity and extraordinary change of the times due to the digital revolution are experienced and interpreted in contrasting ways. While on the one hand one notes its inevitability by trying to preserve principles and values through prohibitions and objections, on the other one is fascinated by trying to adapt models of life and work, of socialisation, with the illusion of contemporaneity, modernity, innovation.

What is GPT Chat and how it works

The invasive force of OpenAI's Chat GPT, a subject that has interested authorities, public life, intellectuals, managers and entrepreneurs, has forcefully raised the issue of Artificial Intelligence, what use can be made of it and what the advantages are, but also the dependencies that can arise from it, the impacts on individual rights and the economic life of the country.

In the organisational context of companies, the topic takes on strategic importance and is at the root of the real thinking to be done if, in fact, the topic of AI is posed, beyond the technological superpowers, to public and private companies and organisations in various sectors, the topic is experimental and confused, tackled extemporaneously, sometimes without a clear deployment of resources.

In reality, the primary issue to be addressed is the ability to do data analysis, which anticipates the topic of AI.

Data analytics

Using data for decision-making is an anticipatory cultural theme and means for organisations, making data itself an integral part of products and services, of business processes, transforming them and changing the way they deal with markets, customers, thus realising automatic learning models aimed at results.

To realise true data analytics one needs to have a competence, an analysis model, to have a technological infrastructure that is able to communicate and understand data from different IT environments, integrating different software and platforms, a flexible IT architecture, open to integration, to the cloud. It is necessary to have technology strategy visions to change organisations and service models. It is necessary to have solid partners to identify business needs, requirements, risks.

The human factor will always make the difference

It is necessary to rethink how people interact with the available technology, and how much they understand its potential, its value, the quality it can bring to their work and professional skills.

It is the ability to do data analysis that drives and needs to be implemented in order to then be able to use the inevitable AI successfully and without dependency. It is appropriate to be aware that the technological and digitised society sends us information by images, flashes of data, and in this sense some sectors of our society by their very nature escape mathematical calculations that, although positive in terms of results, do not mitigate risks, fears, emergencies (as the Questore of Milan, Giuseppe Petronzi, recently pointed out very well, in the face of the city's security emergency).

The human factor, i.e. skills, creativity, understanding of phenomena and events, contextualising them with a systemic approach, will continue to make the difference.

And so it is in Hollywood (even Steven Spielberg is putting the brakes on AI) as in Milan: we are afraid of the invisible enemy, we are looking for safeguards, instead we must, without renouncing data analytics, prepare ourselves for AI, which, if it has to be, will still be the technology that supports man.
