2021 Illusions, risks and fear
2022 must be the year of risk management and governance
In this final of 2021 we feel like we are still in a bubble, none of us are the same as two years ago, it was the year of illusions. The fear generated by the pandemic, which is not only health but also economic and financial, of the future, risks distancing us, generating mistrust, making us feel the neighbor we meet, on the tram, on the subway at the bar, in the office, like a trap , an enemy.
We are afraid of the unexpected, of the virus, of its consequences, some, many would like more control, obligations, others their freedom.
We all want zero risk, which everyone is talking about, an infinity of risk experts. Security requires control, obligations, fulfilments, the risk still remains in an area of uncertainty, a "rest" that is difficult to control.
In these risk scenarios we will face 2022 and it would make sense to govern these scenarios and these risks by not giving up our values and founding Western principles, to keep our roots, in the awareness of having to live in the present and that the unexpected is part of our same life. Security is not living in a suspended time but managing risk in the present, governing ourselves and preparing for the future without giving up our spaces but managing and governing them.
2022 will have to be the year of management and governance of risks that in a liquid, digital society, change rapidly, change us not to change us but to make us mature, grow, share, participate, so a mature society can govern risks and fear.
